My son just returned from another winter Bering Sea season (thank you Lord) And much of our time is now preparing for another Alaska Season ourselves.... To be mobile (absent) like this, involves every part of your life I guess. To be remote has been made more convenient with internet and phones for sure. But, who gets the mail? pays the bills? checks the house? mows the lawn? stores the cars? waters the plants? how does family contact you? how many birthdays missed, 4th of Julys never celebrated in the park? It is kinda strange, all the preparation, then separation, and upon re-entry, you have to re-learn the regular life kinda mode….no complaints! Just some morning musings.
