My son was in New York on this day. He was on his way to work that morning, he touched the door of the train that ended up under the towers, but the door closed and he missed the train. He had just finished taking red cross training at college for extra credit and later that day was called to the scene as a worker. David walked across the broklyn bridge on his way to help, while victims were walking the other way to get out of the city. He spent two weeks at a small church feeding and consoling the firefighters there. After two weeks of seeing things that no young man should ever see, he called and asked if he could come home. His heart broken and his sole touched, he needed to get away from the horror. We brought him home and took him way up into the mountains where Wendy, Eric and myself held him in our arms and soothed his heart with our love. No TV, no Radio just a family sharing our love and healing. David is my hero! My heart aches when I think of the stories he can tell, the heartbreak he has experienced and the memories he lives with everyday. So yes take the time to do the little things in life you never have time for it may save your life or the life of another. Share your love, smile at others, look folks in the eye, be kind, Most of all know you are loved!!!!
