My son was incarcerated for 4 years. He got out a few months ago - TopicsExpress

My son was incarcerated for 4 years. He got out a few months ago and then recently violated his parole. He offered that damaging information to his parole officer. It wasnt a criminal act outside of breaching his parole rules, but still it was a violation. His original offense was of such serious magnitude, that yes, it really matters. I am very proud of him for telling the truth. As a result, though, he is back in the county jail. Tomorrow there is a hearing to decide if he will returned to prison. For those of you who pray, please pray for him and for our family. My prayer is that if he is best on the outside and society is best with him on the outside, that he is returned to society. If not, it is my prayer that the mentoring and counseling that hes been getting continues to make an impact on him and that he will be out soon. A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still.. Emerson Over the last 4 years and especially this last year, Ive seen him allow the input of others to change some very persistent and damaging mental and emotional patterns which he carried with great tenacity. Im not a person that normally thinks prison makes one a better person. In fact, Ive been known to characterize it as being inside the belly of the beast. In my sons case, He learned to tell the truth, to take responsibility for his actions, to understand that you cant do whatever you want. There are boundaries and limits...and if we dont rein ourselves in, someone else will....
