My soul had been in a spiritual Drought until this Sunday morning when I stepped into the Welfare Baptist Church sanctuary for what would be a Spirit-filled Family and Friends Day Celebration. And trust me the SPIRIT was alive and well and just swelled to overflowing . It was wonderful to see the many families represented in their family Tee-Shirts . Oh, the family history in that gathering today. We were privileged to see and hear Delvin Choice sing two songs and played the piano. We all were and are proud of his success and standing firm while he shared his talent with the world on THE VOICE, to the energetic young Praise Dancers who danced with joy and their smiles showed it. Changing gears to the uplifting voice and song of Opera singer Mrs. Kathye J. Gary then came the anointed and soul stirring message of Theres No Place Like Home delivered... PREACH PREACHED by Minister Drucelle Henderson. Powerful message from a powerful Minister. The spirit swelled even GREATER as Dr. Samuel B Neely called our souls to the alter for prayer ....to come talk to GOD and once again his eloquence and the way he FIXED the words to penetrate our hearts and souls. Moved, MOVED....oh how we were MOVED. And to think I almost talked myself OUT of coming this morning, making excuses not to make the effort. I would have done myself an injustice if I had listened and stayed at home. But instead....I CAME HOME to be with extended family members and friends at Welfare Baptist Church CAUSE THEREs NO PLACE LIKE HOME. My grand father CLIFF CLEMENT spoke today to me in a brief conversion I had with Mr. Dean and the Minister...anointed Lady who stopped me in my tracks and spoke confirmation after confirmation of where GOD was leading me to do and to be for HIM. And in the words of Minister Drucelle Henderson My GOD, My GOD. Thank you Ms. Patricia Agnew for feeding me the words to What a Friend and then GOD FED ME THE REST. Thank you....thank you. It was a special day of celebration, food shared and memories made. Thank you. loretta holloway
