My status apply to me as much/more than those reading it. I write how I think and then go back and try to humble my words. Just replace the word people with I and please understand that Im not on a pedestal. I am amongst the guiltiest. Im not preaching from within some form of self-righteousness. Im standing butt nekked without shame on the corner of facebook ave. Im a student of my own beliefs, failing hard every day, but with a few insights I want to share. I long for the day when people can admit at the most basic level that they just MIGHT be wrong about some things. Every Christian knows their faith is true, just like every Muslim knows their faith is true, just like every every soldier pulling a trigger knows its the right thing to do. Seems like youve all been sure about yourselves for quite some time and have racked up quite the body count in the names of your loving Gods. Just take an hour walk in the park and CONSIDER (dont worry Jesus wont smite you, I read his book, hes cool) the things you are most sure of! If they are true and right then they ought to be able to withstand your own questioning. If its bullshit you should figure that out pretty easily as well. We had to question slavery to rise above it and arent we a better species for it (not that its truly over)? Some are so afraid or unwilling to question themselves that it makes me think people are afraid of realizing and admitting just how wrong they might have been. Its much easier to keep marching on in your ignorance especially with the TV telling you how right you are. Please look for the good in each other and celebrate your similarities as well as differences and stop killing people because they say God and love differently than you.
