My stories are not my identity. I share them because Ive learned a lesson and find value in that, not because I think that Im in some way superior to anyone. Over the years, Ive hand people come into my life that were the object of lessons. It took me awhile to get what was happening but once I did, I discovered that each person/event showed me something about myself that I wasnt aware of until they came into my life. Sometimes, it was painful to look at but we all must face the truth without shooting the messenger. I was able to move forward in my life and change that thing that I didnt like about myself once I realized what was happening. There was a time when I lived in victim mode and had a friend come literally pry me out of bed and tell me to stop playing the victim. My mind was what, what do you mean victim? So I was this person who needed to be rescued. I never heard of this terminology before that day. Anyway, I dont want to go into another story, I have many. All Im saying is that in life, if something isnt working for us, there is a reason and we need to look at it from all angles without judging it. We can break any pattern through awareness and determination. It isnt easy but it can be done if we are ready for change.
