My sweet grandmother passed away yesterday. This morning I shared a devotion at work about walking with God. I shared that we need to listen to the voice of God as he gently encourages us to let go of anger, bitterness, pride, greed, etc. To illustrate this, I shared about when my grandmother (Mommom) and Pop were driving, Pop would sometimes get angry at other drivers and say (half-joking) Do you want me to PUNCH em, Jackie? And she would gently reply Let it be, Jim, let it be. She exemplified the calming, guiding, voice of God, reminding us to not carry around that baggage in our walk with Him. Mommom taught others how to walk in gentle, humble faith, and I believe this promise from Scripture was fulfilled yesterday: Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death. Isaiah 57:2
