My sympathies to you and my heartfelt agreement with your words. So many Chicken Hawks wanted that war but didnt want to fight in it and didnt want any of THEIR loved ones fighting in it. My son went with the 3rd Infantry and did multiple tours.... Believe me it is hard on parents wondering when you might get that knock at the door.. I thank GOD that never happened. He has since moved to a job with the DOD in a training and support role related to his military MOS, BUT he still deploys with the 1st Infantry now and the worry is still there..
