My take on Sculley ~ from F.j. San Miguels earlier - TopicsExpress

My take on Sculley ~ from F.j. San Miguels earlier post.........Tim Reilly ~ I never worked for SAPD but I worked alongside you in an assignment in Vice for most of 10 years. I know that contract negotiations have always been a time of give and take on either side of the table. However, since the current City Manager came onboard it has only gotten more difficult to reach an agreement between the Rank and File and the City. Thats sad since Police and Fire make life altering choices in the blink of an eye, sometimes those choices mean offering up ones own personal well being for the common good. How do you sit in your Office and enjoy a salary larger than the President of the United States and count beans on Public Safety personnel. Its incredulous. In my tenure with Vice several SAPD OFFICERS passed in the line of duty, and quite a few more were significantly injured. These folks were not painting curbs, tending to clerical activity or reading meters, they were running toward gunfire, fighting physically with crooks, getting run over (as witnessed this past Saturday night~Bike Patrol) and a whole host of other physical and psychologically harmful duties. My partner in Vice years back was bitten by an HIV Positive Offender. The Detective had to go through a six month course of medical treatments, all the while not knowing if he might end up HIV positive as well. I wish you all the best outcome in this disgraceful shenanigan the City Manager is intent upon serving up to you
