My thanks to Margaret Arnold (sadly not on Facebook so I cannot tag her name) and her team of flower arrangers for these magnificent stars that were hand made for Christmas. I think they are great. There is one above the chancel steps and one on the font. The star above our heads represents for me our highest aspirations for 2015 - our hopes and dreams for this new year and how faith will help us on our journey through the months ahead, following the star that shows us the way and leads us on - that is the Morning Star, Jesus Christ . I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star. Revelation 22.16 The star at the font represents for me Jesus being with us in our baptism - identifying with us and forgiving us and restoring us, bearing our sins and letting us go on into the year ahead free of any guilt or condemnation. Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. Isaiah 53.4 May you know the Holy Spirits presence in all your highs and lows of this new year! Simon
