My thoughts on the football guy beating his kid. It takes a big man to beat a 4 year old boy to this level. All the apologists for this brutal assault simply disgust me. Most articles try to play this down by calling it discipline rather than assault of a child and comments on twitter and facebook are predominantly in favor of this piece of human excrement. Most are very compelling arguments similar to Back in my day and I turned out fine. This kid bled for a week and if I remember correctly was hit in da nuts. The pictures in the attached link were taken 4 days after the assault. How in the world can you call that discipline? This pain as a teacher concept is disgusting and simply wrong. Pain and violence as teaching instruments only serve to teach that pain and violence are legitimate means to get what you want. Entitled kids are entitled because theyre never told no and always get whatever they want, not because they arent physically and emotionally assaulted to instill fear and dominance in them every time they act up. Thats straight stone-age level thinking or possibly something youd see at the zoo. I would hope we can evolve as humans and society beyond animalistic behaviors. Take a closer look at your methods and you might just see that your parents were assaulted, you were assaulted, your kids were assaulted and now your grand kids are being assaulted. The trail of violence and assault continues until hopefully one day someone wakes up and realizes love, compassion and guidance work better than beating the shit out of your kids. If you feel compelled to correct me on this particular issue, please do. This is a great time to clean up my friends list. Its getting a little too long anyways.
