My thoughts on the overturned catch... It was a close game and could have gone either way. What upsets me is when a controversial call impacts the game so late in the game. On that 4th down the refs know if they overturn the call they are basically giving the game to Green Bay. It takes irrefutable evidence to overturn a call on the field. I didnt see that evidence. I understand you have to maintain possession after hitting the ground...unless you make a football move before hitting the ground. The rules experts claim diving or stretching for the end zone is a football move so basically the question is, was he diving for and stretching towards the goal line or was he just falling in that direction? I think he was diving and stretching...the ref thought he was just falling...bummer. They should have called it a catch and let the teams play. Green Bay had plenty of time to mount a comeback if they Cowboys had gone on to score. Of course there were missed opportunities...the Cowboys could have won if they hadnt missed a field goal before halftime which gave Green Bay a short field and the opportunity to add a field goal of their own...that was a six point swing. And Murrays fumble was big. Even the announcers said he would have scored a touchdown on that play...instead Green Bay had another short field and kicked another field goal...a possible 10 point swing with that mistake. All-in-all it was a close game and both teams can be proud of their effort. Was it a catch? Yes. Does it matter now? Nope. Did the refs cheat the Cowboys? Maybe. Did they do it on purpose or because they were paid-off? Nope. When calls like, a football move are left up to interpretation, there will always be differences of opinion. And, theres always next season. Go Cowboys!
