My three year old baby Calder Alexander runs into the office from my bedroom where he is immersed in The Little Engine That Could on Net Flix and tugs on my arm and says in his soft but determined lil man voice…Daddy…can I give you another hug ? with his lil puppy dog eyes just gettin me good. I said in my most calming Daddy voice…sweety, you can have all the hugs you want….he said em-k as he gives me his whole squirshy lil body to hug, His stubby little feet barely come off the floor. I swear I can feel his heart beating against my chest as I hug him gently. As he walks out of the office making the sounds on the wood floor that only those little feet can, I find myself overwhelmed with some emotion…joy I think…not sure. I cant help but feel that dreaded one tear run down my unshaven Dad face. Thank God he was already out of the room. As some who know me may know, its been a three year long battle to get this joyous progeny, this gift from where all good things come from into my life on a regular basis. So….I guess maybe the Dad tear was justified. Two minutes later, I hear from across the hall in my bed room over the voices in the movie…….Daaaad….I have to poop again…….. so….yeah….that happened today. :^)
