My two cents. To everyone who is making fun of Me and my Cubbies, realize that when the Tribune owned the team, they ran it strictly for profit. There was never a plan in place to win. They knew they could make a profit from the loyal fan base. They did just enough to keep people interested, then tried to capitalize on the few years the team actually made the playoffs. Now we have an ownership and an executive team (Theo Epstien who built the Red Soxs to win two World Series) that actually has a plan in place, and they are trying to build a long term core, not just cobble together some random pieces and hope for the best. I am a lifelong Cubs fan, so I am anxious to see a championship as much as the next guy, but I am willing to see if Epsteins plan develops as he hopes. If not, what have I lost? A few more years of no winning. Im used to it. But if it does pay off, then I will be ecstatic.
