My uncle Belisario past away and is now with the Lord, last night. I dont have enough to say about this wonderful man. Born and raised in Mexico, under squalor, but never let any of that ever stand in his way. Came to the USA, taught himself how to read and write, self reliant, and a very principled man. Worked very hard his whole life, made a life for his family, his wife my Tia Romanita, and his 5 sons, Nef Rios, Caleb Rios, Obed Rios, Gustavo Rios, and Belisario Rios. All 5 sons very accomplished in their lives because of the principles that their dad had them believe in. I remember when we would, on a whim, just go to the park and play sports. My Tio Belisario would force my Dad to bring me and my mom, sometimes my sisters. just to have family time. What a wonderful family man he was.0 I am not embarrassed to tel this story of the time i was under a car. I was quite rebellious when i was young. so there i was cutting up and i said i wanna go home. So my mom came to get me and there was my uncle chasing my in the street with a belt in his hand. i ran and ran and finally ended up under a car. I still got my whoppin! Principled! I know the Lord has welcomed this wonderful man home. I dont have enough to say how many lives this man has touched along his journey. He made my Dad a better person, even though i still remember that whenever they got together they would argue about what screw went where, but they loved each other. More than i would ever know. My Tio Belisario was my second Dad. In ending, i will share one of my most intimate times i had with him. We were sitting at his kitchen table and he just wanted to hear what i had to say about politics. When we were done with our discussion, he looked at me and said,"Hubert you are one of the most intelligent men i know, why arent you doing more with your life." That changed me, that made me want to do more. That was his gift to all that came around him. He just wanted everyone he felt blessed to meet, to do the very best they could. I love you, Tio Belisario, remember that i play catcher, and choose me for the Heavens League. I will miss you but your words will forever stay in my heart.
