‘My wife dresses provocatively, exposes boobs, buttocks —Husband tells court “I‘m not offended that my wife has not been able to bear children, but I get infruated with the way she dresses provocatively, exposing her breasts and buttocks. “Anytime I complain, she will tell me that is what is in vogue.” These were the words of 42-year-old Owoseni Benson, who pleaded with an Agege Grade ‘A’ Customary Court in Lagos State to dissolve his 7-year-old marriage over his wife’s alleged wayward life. Owoseni, a carpenter, who lives at 10, Lucas Street, Obawole, Isaga, Lagos State, told the court that his wife, Adenike Oladeru was quarellsome and fought everyone they lived with which made them move house often. ”She fights everyone in every house we have lived in. “There was a time she attempted committing suicide on the claim that I rebuked her for being childless. I only advised her to stop being quarellsome,” he said. “I had a child when I was in secondary school. She asked me to bring the child home. According to her, if she was living with us, I won’t be able to marry the mother. but when the child came to live with us, she gave her hell. ”There was a day we went to settle our differences in my sister’s place. she stood up and gave me a slap because I said she goes after other men. “I once caught her with a man late in the night. she didn’t come home that night but went to stay with her aunt for a week. “In 2011, she called me and said she was fed up with our marriage.Two weeks later, she parked her belongings, left our home and got married to another man. “I have come to court to dissolve our union. Although she has been pleading with me to take her back, I don’t want her anymore.” Meanwhile, Adenike, a hairdresser, has refused to come to show up in court for the fourth time since the proceedings started. The court president, Mr Emmaunel Shokunle, adjourned the case for further hearing
