My youngest offspring, Michael Brown, turns 30 in two days and wrote this installment in his Bachelor Life series. I found it funny and hope some of you find it entertaining, too: 2Days!! When I was 18 working at the chiro center... I had to stay late one night to wait for a patient so since I had completed all my tasks, I decided to do the responsible thing and surf the internet. I came across EHarmony and since (if you ever had me on Myspace youll know) I loved taking internet surveys, I decided to take theirs, making sure to accurately fill out the questions. That was the longest 45 min of my life. And when I hit enter, to see how many matches I had... to my surprise... EHarmony, despite their millions of members, had 0 people that I was compatible with. Undeterred...I waited a week and once night at home instead of doing some homework, I did the responsible thing and filled out that EHarmony survey again. Cause it just didnt seem right that there was no one. Another 45 min...another 0 compatible matches. So I said screw online dating sites. I never knew girls on Blackplanet when they get bubbly. I never really had an interest to be on one of those sites, and the only ones I ever went on regularly were the ones that were free. It just seemed so unnatural to find love that way. Paying a website to find me love? No offense...but it seemed so brothel like. A man pays someone to display to them dozens of women he then gets to choose from to in an attempt at intimacy. Im not tripping...but thats a brothel right? Because of this analyzationism of mine...there is one site I cant stand. ChristianMingles. I gotta pay this...AND Tithes and Offering?! Wait...why am I getting charged anyway? God charging me to find love now? Is Heaven in recession? AND... So you mean to tell me, All these millions of people cant find a good man/woman in church? Really? Cause thats the message youre promoting to me. Something just doesnt seem right about God using technology like that. Hes set up millions of people in his day without the use of Meet Black People or Twitter or Vine or Youtube. God doesnt seem like one to follow trends..but let me not speak for him. Im not ordained or anything. This is not a diss on online dating or online love. And I know a bunch of close personal people who have found real love online. Some things just arent for certain people. And as I wrote this...I took another questionnaire from EHarmony. This time it only took 25 min of my time to come up with 0 compatible matches. Im going to continue sticking to the plan laid down by my forefathers when it comes to finding a mate. Lie Like Hell. BL
