Myah, was a lucky one, but most are not... Myah, a 2-year old - TopicsExpress

Myah, was a lucky one, but most are not... Myah, a 2-year old pit bull in Memphis posted her letter in her words that she had 1 day to live. She received thousands of responses and guess what she was saved!!(so happy for her!). But with all those other 999+ other responses there are other pit bulls just like her deemed aggressive but just scared that are dying every day in high kill facilities that need to be saved too (lets not kid ourselves and call them shelters). It is typical in Memphis to label all pit bulls as aggressive and kill them in 72 hours, without allowing any possible adopters to ever see them. Here is Myahs response letter -- after she was saved. HI! ITS ME! IM ALIVE! I just found out my name is Myah! How cool is that? I have a name. I thought every human being was awful.....until today. I really didnt like being in the horrible cage in that dark place. Nobody was nice to me. They kept coming in to my cage and scaring me. I didnt want to growl at them, its just that my leg was really hurting and I was afraid they were going to hurt me more! I heard people saying I was vicious and they put a may bite sticker on me. They said I hated other dogs, but they didnt even ask me! Then they told me I was aggressive with women. I was just shaking with fear. They didnt understand how much it hurt to be held down and have my ears cut off. Or how much it hurt to be lost on the streets and have a car hit me. Now they have ME in a cage and they say IM aggressive? What did I do? I didnt understand! Finally a couple of nice ladies came in to my cage and petted me. That felt so good! It took me a while to trust them, but I gave their hands little licks. Then finally I spent some time outside my cage with a really nice lady. She was talking to me and petting me. Next thing I knew I was in her lap!! OMG! Best place on earth! Who knew a human being could be so soft and warm and loving? THE BIG NEWS? These ladies fought for my release and IM GOING HOME WITH ONE OF THEM! She said I will have my own bed, and plenty of toys (dont know what they are), and food any time I wanted it! Im so lucky!!! As I was leaving the awful cage, I walked past a bunch of other dogs that looked like me......but they were so sad. Nobody was taking them home. Nobody even came to see them. They know they are going to die. We can smell death. Humans dont understand that. All I can say is Im so grateful I wrote that letter to all of you yesterday. Otherwise you would never have known about me.......and I would still be with those other dogs......waiting for death. Please could you help them too? ALL MY LOVE.....AND THANK YOU! Myah Maya
