N50M bribe allegation: Fejiro Oliver remanded in Prison Custody by Court The Minna Magistrate’s Court V yesterday adjourned to October 3, the case filed by the Niger State government against one Tega Sampson Oghenedoro of the Nige-rian Television Authority (NTA) Sapele, Delta State, for demanding a bribe of N50 million for a story over fraudulent activities in the state government. The accused whose case was mentioned yesterday for substantive hearing was arraigned on a four-count charge of joint act, cheating, extortion and intimidation contrary to Sections 293, 234 397, 324, 293 and 397 of the penal code law. The counsel to the accused, Gabriel Esiegene, failed to secure bail for his client even after filling a motion for the bail before the court as the state counsel, Moses Ciroma, argued that they were only served with the motion late on Monday and that the law guaranteed them at least 48 hours to respond to such a motion. In his ruling, Magistrate Jibrin Zabo granted the prayers of the state counsel for adjournment to enable them respond to the bail application and ordered the accused to be remanded in prison custody.
