NACHO UPDATE! For those who dont know about our boy....Nacho was found chained to a fence, mauled and suffering. We took him in, cleaned him up and began to notice some behavioral issues that were far from acceptable. We called on our wonderful friends at Cesar Millans Dog Psychology Center to ask for some assistance. Nacho began with a full behavioral evaluation where the realization was made that he associated aggression with pleasing people. Our sweet boy was trained to fight. Just typing that brings tears from my eyes, I have met this dog and he is so wonderful. For someone to take that loving dog and put him in a position where he would have to harm another dog or be harmed himself is heartbreaking. Cesars team was unwavering, they knew that he could be fixed and put their full effort behind the cause. Lisa and Zach had been down to check on him every week since he arrived at the DPC but unfortunately my schedule didnt permit it until today. I walked up within 20 feet of the fenced yard he and his awesome trainer were working in, immediately he started to sniff the air....his eyes turned and he ran towards the gate, my boy remembered me. I walked in and he was glued to me, all the feelings of love I had for this dog came pouring back in such a fashion that I had to remind myself we were training. I admittedly slipped and used my nickname for him Nachi and he just about melted. I missed him so much.
