NADINE DEBIEN : HUMANOÏDS TO CONQUER THE UNITED STATES ! For most of her life, Nadine has had a real passion for art. She began this “Love Story” in high school, and developed it during her College years by taking interior design courses. And yet, Nadine waited for years before making the leap between pure creation which gratifies her every single day with immense happiness and considering commercializing her art! As soon as he started showing them, her Humanoids were immediately successful ! These characters represent a sweet caricature of the world, allowing for a tender, lucid and amused perspective on our daily lives as well as on the humans we encounter. Once upon a time ... The Humanoids The history of Nadine’s Humanoids began in 1999 with a few early drawings that garnered enthusiastic comments from the happy few who saw them. Humanoids then took a three dimensional turn to answer a request from a South of France gallery owner. Starting from pencil and paper, Nadine began to happily focus on sculpture! Since then, Nadine has never ceased to create and invade her workshop with these lovable characters. A short time after came the time when those discovering these Humanoids pressured the artist to sell her art, which she always wanted to keep for her and her loved ones. This passionate artist, creating her characters instinctively as she sculpts them, is often surprised herself when she discovers a final result that she had not imagined. It is this creative excessiveness that motivates her. Now that she has finally agreed to exhibit (only) some of her creations, they can be found in several private collections and are being presented at a few contemporary art fairs and exhibitions. Along the way Nadine met famous molder Gerard Pigault, who works among others for Steinbach, Laurence Bonnel, Kasper, Pierre Huyghe, Xavier Veilhan (represented by the well-respected gallery Emmanuel Perrotin), and even for the Chanel brand. It is Mr. Pigault who now molds Nadine’s creations to produce limited editions. In the end, each Humanoid is a unique piece since Nadine adds a personal touch to each one. From exhibitions to Art Fairs... Whenever Nadine presents her Humanoids, she continues to capture a wider audience. Humanoids are alive in their body language, their expressions and their attitude. Colorful, they also deliver a message with that sweet touch of craziness and happiness that is so successful. They are a reflection on everyday life, generational witnesses of today’s world addressed with humor by Nadine Debien. From one exhibition to another, Nadine Debien quickly found herself present in international events in France. She has exhibited at the Grand Palais or at the Carrousel du Louvre, during important exhibitions. In her own way, Nadine is also a Humanoid. A humanist humanoid who has created her own permanent exhibition space in a sublime 19th Century edifice in the heart of the historic town of Fontainebleau, close to the famous Royal and Imperial Castle. It is in this space that she often (graciously) invites other artists to exhibit at her side. She selects them based on her vibe, because Nadine’s whole life is set on the present moment and on what life has to offer. After France, conquering the United States Nadine came to New York for the first time in 2010. A few private collectors have acquired some of her works, and an important theater in Miami recently purchased her Marilyn, which now thrones in the middle of the heavy red curtains of this historic theater. In 2015, Nadine Debien the artist will really cross the Atlantic with her Humanoids! They will be present at several American rendezvous. Humanoids want to conquer a public who loves monumental and creative pieces of art. 2015 is a turning point in the career of this generous and passionate artist, who chooses to fully live her passion for creating her art without any boundaries.
