NASGA MEMBER SCOT JESSE: My mother-in-law was as intelligent as they come being valedictorian of her senior high school class and top of her major in college; she was diagnosed with manic-depression, bi-polar for nearly half of her life. Mom was court-ordered Guardian care in 2002, even though family was present and willing and able to perform the services having degrees in accounting from Penn State. The court ordered a “pastor” to perform Guardian duties in 2002-2003 (and to my knowledge, NO formal final accounting was filed!!!) 2nd Guardian was court ordered 2004-2009 and 3rd Guardian was court ordered 2010-2012 leading up to mom’s death in April of 2012. Final Guardian never visited mom once in the year of 2010 per her own admission of accounting filed with the courts and only visited mom once in the year of 2011 allegedly having mom removed from her home (week after Christmas) after 9-years with no formal eviction or condemnation process that we are unable to find thru FOIA and/or the town board. In my opinion, Guardian performing (or lack of) extreme ethical violation lead to the death of my mother-in-law. By removing mom from her home with no Guardian visitations but only once in the last 2-years of mom’s life. It is my understanding, that mom didn’t even have a bath for over a year! stopguardianabuse.org/carol_reeves_semmler.htm
