The only Senate race in the nation at this mark.” -- News Observer, 3/24/201 When the Koch brothers, Karl Rove, and their special interest buddies see reporting like “dead even,” their brains translate that into “if we spend enough money, we can win.” And boy, are they spending big. Between the attacks they’ve already launched and airtime they’ve got sewn up, special interests have hit the $10 million mark against Kay. That assumption could be true if Kay didn’t have a strong grassroots network backing her up. But guess what -- she does. And we’re not about to let special interest groups buy a Senate seat in North Carolina. The FEC deadline is coming up on Monday. Yes, this Monday. The other side has already spent over $10 million against Kay -- more than any other Senator in the country. And we’re still about $9,500 short. Can you give $5 or more right now to help us close that gap? Can you imagine what a Koch-Rove agenda would look like if it became law? It would be a special interest dream to have their hand-picked candidates in the Senate. If the Kochs can buy races for people like Thom Tillis, then maybe they could end Medicare as we know it, or give more tax breaks to the wealthiest.
