U.S. Gen. Philip Breedlove said on Wednesday that in the last two days equipment had been seen crossing the border, “primarily Russian tanks, Russian artillery, Russian air defense systems and Russian combat troops.” The remarks drew an immediate response from Moscow. Stating that there was “no evidence” to back up the accusation, senior Russian defense official General-Major Igor Konashenkov added: We have already stopped paying attention to unsubstantiated statements by NATOs Supreme Allied Commander Europe, General Philip Breedlove, on Russian military convoys he observed allegedly invading Ukraine.
