NATURAL WAYS TO GET RID OF DANDRUFF---> Before reading on about treating your dandruff at home, make sure you actually have dandruff. Chances are a good amount of the people visiting this post will actually have dry scalp, which differs from dandruff in symptoms and treatment. If you know you have dandruff, than read on. Below are home remedies to help you kick the crusties. LISTERINE FOR DANDRUFF: Listerine was actually created in 1879 by a doctor in Missouri and used as a powerful surgical antiseptic for dentists. When the good doctor sold it to a pharmaceutical company, it uses broadened and it became the first over-the-counter mouth wash ever sold in the United States. In the 1930’s and ‘40s, one its original purposes was also to fight dandruff. It may seem random, but consider that Listerine fights fungus, and one of the most common cause of dandruff is an overabundance of…you guessed it, fungus. You will need… -Water -Listerine Mouthwash (preferably not green or blue as they might stain your hair) -Spray bottle (optional) Directions… Mix 2 parts water with 1 part Listerine. After you shampoo, spray or pour the solution onto your scalp, massage in well, and let sit for 30 minutes before rinsing with water. BAKING SODA FOR DANDRUFF: Baking soda can help reduce the overactive fungi that causes dandruff. With repeated use, it also helps restore production of natural oils that keep your scalp from becoming dry and flaky. Wet your hair and rub some baking soda onto your scalp. After some time, rinse your hair well with water. Do not shampoo your hair for a while after this treatment. Alternatively, you can add some baking soda to your shampoo when you wash your hair. WHITE VINEGAR FOR DANDRUFF: White vinegar is one of the best home treatments for dandruff. Vinegar has acetic acid that prevents growth of bacteria and fungi on your scalp. Mix one part vinegar with three parts water. Use the mixture to wash your hair and then rinse it out with water. You can also apply vinegar directly onto your hair, wrap it with a towel and leave it on overnight. In the morning, wash your hair. OLIVE OIL FOR DANDRUFF: Scalp dryness can be cured with regular use of extra virgin olive oil, an effective natural moisturizer. Simply heat some extra virgin olive oil until it is slightly warm. Massage it onto your scalp and then wrap your hair in a towel for half an hour. Brush your hair thoroughly to remove the dry flakes and then wash your hair. SOME MORE TIPS ARE IN THE IMAGES!!!!!
