NCAA Chief legal officer says Student-athletes are not employees, and their participation in college sports is voluntary.” Rrriiiightttt… because a scholarship isnt financial compensation and because none of the players need to: (1) show up on a schedule, (2) wear a uniform, (3) use the tools provided to them, (4) follow instruction and (5) refrain from performing the same work for others. And the schools dont: (1) dictate when and where, (2) who else is on the team, (3) designate who does what, (4) designate which suppliers equipment to use, or (5) control all of the financial decisions. And of course, none of the players have to play to keep their scholarships.
