NDCs SOLID RECORD IN THE NORTH, FACTS YOU NEED TO KNOW.... Although I abhore blame games in any intellectual political discourse, I certainly am in awe of comparative analyses, hence, would in this respect state in explicable terms, what the NDC govt has done for the North since 2009, so we can compare with what NPP did in their 8years in govt. I remember about 4 years ago, the then National Youth Organiser of NPP, Anthony Karbo, came to Northern Region and addressed a press conference in which he stated among many things, that all projects, especially roads, started under the NPP were abandoned by NDC and that the NDC at the time did not initiate a single project in the North. However,being on Diamond Fms Super Morning Show with him the fateful morning after, I challenged him to mention those projects, especially roads...that they started and we abandoned...but to my utter dismay, he could not mention even one. It was an embarrassment of a sort because he and the NPP communicators in Northern Ghana seemed to have presided over a misrepresentation of facts. Drawing such analogy has become relevant to my analysis in the sense that, even today, when the benevolence of this govt is practically spreading the length and breath of the North, they still try to pull the wool over the eyes of Ghanaians..but as a Northerner, I say he who feels it knows it best, hence see below. All in Six Years: 1. Tamale International Airport (On going) 2. Navrongo Solar Plant (Adds 5mw to the national grid and provides electricity for 40% of the catchment area) 3. Tamale Teaching Hospital 4. Upper West Regional Hospital (On going) 5. Nalerigu-Gambaga Road (Almost done) 6. Navrongo-Tumu-Wa Road (On going) 7. Sawla-Fufulso Road (99% done) 8. Easten Corridor (On going) 9. Sheanut Processing Plant in Buipe (Ghana/Brazil Collaboration) 10. Gushegu Health Assistant School 11. Gambaga Training College 12. Newly Established OLA Girls SHS, Navrongo (Completed and being used). 13. Water Project in Wa West - To Serve the Whole of Upper West and Some Parts of Northern Region (On going) 14. Regional ICT Centres 15. Suger Processing Plant in Savelugu District (On going) 16. Aboabo Super Markets, Tamale........ Note: These do not include CHPS Compounds in and District Hospitals which the government has enormously established. It also does not include the govts Community Senior High Schools of which the 3 Northern Regions have had allocations out of the 73 so far, and construction being done. On rural electrification, the govt has extended electricity to hundreds of communities in the North. Now, apart from the Tamale Sports Stadium and Yendi Road, what other MAJOR projects did the NPP bring to the North? Until they come with answers and facts to prove otherwise, let me say the North will forever remain grateful and thankful to every NDC govt. For me, its time we shifted the paradigms of our political discourse from one of rhetoric, sabortag, lies and blame games to a state of palpable representation of facts. God Bless President Maham!
