NEHAWU members in Mpumalanga marched to the Mpumalanga Department of Social Development to deliver a memorandum of demands to Provincial MEC KC Mashego-Dlamini. The union’s action follows a failed series of engagements with the department on a litany of issues that concern the workers in the department. After failing to find common ground and reaching a deadlock on those engagements we lodged a dispute at the Public Health and Social Development Sectoral Bargaining Council which tried in vain to mediate and reconcile both parties.
