NEVER FORGOTTEN! January 5, 2015, marks a sad anniversary. It is the 5th year since we lost Deputy Josie Greathouse Fox of the Millard County Sheriffs Office, in Utah. Despite the fact that I never met Deputy Josie Fox, her husband Doug or their kids, they are part of my family, the law enforcement family. I was so touched by the loss of this lovely young mother, taken by a vicious animal, that I chose to ride in her honor during the 2011 Police Unity Tour. The Police Unity Tour brings together hundreds of police officers from all over the United States to ride bicycles from New Jersey to Washington DC. The purpose of the event is to raise awareness and financial support for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. I hope one day to meet Deputy Fox’s family and offer my personal condolences. In the meantime let’s all keep Deputy Fox; her family and so many others like them in our thoughts and prayers.
