James Vine Operations Manager Prince George Transit Ltd. (A Division of PW Transit) Following completion of his university education, James Vine entered Pacific Western Transportation’s management intern program. After completing this program, he accepted the position of service delivery manager at Prince George Transit Ltd. and in early 2013 promoted to manager, overseeing on-road operations and maintenance. Vine is a dedicated member of the management team and exemplifies the company’s core values of safety, customer service, resourcefulness, integrity, positive attitude, teamwork, loyalty, accountability, respect and dedication. He brings a fresh perspective to the role and has provided positive, effective leadership to transit operators and mechanics. Through his diligence in monitoring the service, the efficiency of the system hasimproved and customer complaints are handled in a timely and effective manner. Vine’s extensive knowledge of the system allows him to credibly connect with the drivers and his exposure to transit through his father, a long-term transit operator for Prince George Transit, allows him to connect with the drivers on a personal level. He understands their challenges and provides his support. His focused approach and intimate understanding of the transit system enable him to consider various points of view and arrive at a decision that he feels is best for all parties involved.
