Sorry for the late weekend specials post. Scottish Rainbow Trout - TopicsExpress

Sorry for the late weekend specials post. Scottish Rainbow Trout Almondine! We still have a few filet steaks left from last night. But they won"t last long, so hurry up! Here is a little something something about them...Loch Etive is just one of the many bodies of water in Scotland, much like Loch Ness, Loch Etive is full of legend. It is the same Loch that creates the Falls of Lora, a natural phenomenon that can only occur where a river meets the ocean. Much of the rich minerals that enter the Loch comes from the sea. With salt water plankton being larger and more hearty, they enter the rivers food chain where bottom species like crayfish, crabs and lobsters can feast only to be fattened up and land them selves in the belly of a hungry Rainbow Trout. More often, if not always, rivers flow out into the ocean. However, in this case, where Loch Etive meets the ocean, the exit way is so narrow that when the ocean tide rises, it rises faster than the river can flow out, so the sea pours into the fresh water Loch, creating a very unique environment for freshwater species, including the Rainbow Trout. The rushing and overflowing of the sea into the loch is known as, The Falls of Lora. Enjoy your weekend!
