***NEW JERSEY DEVILS GAME NIGHT POST!*** CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS (18-8-1) at NEW JERSEY DEVILS (11-13-4) GAME #29 - TV: CSN-CH, MSG+ Blackhawks forward Sharp expected back vs. Devils. Season series: The Chicago Blackhawks swept the two-game set against the New Jersey Devils in 2013-14. Chicago outscored New Jersey 10-5. Blackhawks team scope: Patrick Sharp, one of the top forwards in the NHL, practiced Monday and is expected to return to the lineup against the Devils. Sharp has been out since Nov. 4 because of a lower-body injury. He is expected to skate on a line with Andrew Shaw and Bryan Bickell. I watched him practice today and he looked pretty good with those two guys, coach Joel Quenneville said Monday. It gives us some options, helps our power play, and its good to get him back playing as well. The Blackhawks will be without goalie Corey Crawford (lower-body injury). Devils team scope: Jaromir Jagr had a goal and an assist to pass Marcel Dionne on the NHLs all-time points list in New Jerseys 2-1 win at the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday. Jagr moved into fifth place with 1,772 points. Monday was also his 1,500th NHL game. The guy just knows how to get open and he can still dominate a hockey game, said forward Scott Gomez, who had two assists. Its funny, we all grew up being fans of him. To think of the numbers, its just incredible for hockey and for him. If he plays like that, it makes my job easier. Just get him the puck. The Devils managed to win despite being outshot 40-16. Cory Schneider was brilliant in a 39-save performance. The Hurricanes had the first 13 shots on goal in the third period. Forward Dainius Zubrus was cut on his left leg during the game Monday and did not play in the third period. The Devils played without injured forwards Mike Cammalleri (muscle), Patrik Elias (groin) and Travis Zajac (lower body/illness), along with defenseman Adam Larsson (flu). This is going to be one of the toughest games for the Devils to win. The Blackhawks are a very good team that can score plenty of goals. Devils have to play a full 60-minute game to even have a chance of winning this game. The full line up along with line combinations as well as defense pairings will be posted later after Coach DeBoer media availability at 4:45 p.m. Hopefully the Devils can start a winning streak with a big win over the Blackhawks tonight. The Blackhawks have won six in a row. LETS GO DEVILS!!!
