NEW WAY TO HELP HT ANIMALS EVERY WEEK.... Every few weeks we come to you with a list of special needs animals...those needing surgery, extra care or ongoing medical attention that goes beyond what our budget can accommodate. You always come through for these animals....and we are so grateful. What you may not know is that every week, HT is contacted by the more than 15 shelters we work with begging us to take animals before they are euthanized. These animals are healthy, friendly adoptable animals.....they just happened to have landed in an overcrowded shelter where time and space is working against them. This is especially true for kittens and puppies in the springtime when our shelters have to euthanize dozens weekly simply due to a lack of space. We work so hard to take as many of these animals as we can. We stretch every space and every dollar. But we can only do so much. Sadly, at the end of the day.....it often comes down to available funds. With extra funding, we can often board the animals at a local vet near the shelter for a few days while we await an open foster home. We can pay a bit extra to have the animal spayed/neutered there in order to move them to foster immediately. And right now, we are working hard to secure funds to hire additional staff at our Adoption Center so that we can house and care for as many animals as possible while assuring their quality care. And so we have created a Sponsor an Animal page where you, our loyal supporters, can each week look at the animals on our priority list to rescue. And you can make a donation of any size to help us cover our expenses to rescue them. Your donation will support medical, boarding, and transport costs. $150 is the average cost to rescue a dog $100 is the average cost to rescue a cat The more animals we can get sponsored, the more we can rescue. Its that simple! Our adoption fees simply do not cover all the costs to rescue and care for the animals we take in. So we rely upon donations to make it all happen. With this new initiative, you will be able to see and help the animals that are sitting in shelters awaiting our help RIGHT NOW. Your support will help us save an additional 15-30 animals a month....15-30 perfectly healthy, adoptable animals.....thats between 180-360 more a year!!
