NEW YEAR MESSAGE Brothers and Sisters, It is a brand new year! It is a bonus year and a bonus day today, being the first day of 2015. Every day (and indeed every year) is a bonus as no year or day is guaranteed in our lives. It is for this that we need to give thanks to the Almighty whose call it is to make any time it pleases Him. The button is in His hands. Our cherished association, Mbaise USA has gone through usual and normal ups and downs in the 8 years of its existence but has continued to endure. Thanks to those who have put their labored sweat and measurable and immeasurable resources into making it a success that it is totally acknowledged to be today. To uphold this legacy, the current administration has worked hard and has made some remarkable strides within the 5 months of its existence. The accomplishments are worthy of note. The association came out of New Jersey, bruised and aching; we have deployed all measures that can make the healing process possible. We have tried to keep our voices down as our fists have remained unclenched and our palms are un-retributively wide open. We called for calm and have tried to be less confrontational. We have adopted conciliatory stands on all issues to make our organization stronger, more inclusive and more united. We have drawn up streamlined programs for 2015 and beyond. The necessary approvals for most programs have been received. The chairperson of the medical mission has been appointed and her appointment has been duly approved by the board of delegates. She has since swung into action. She has successfully carried out the initial part of the Ebola Relief Program by successfully supervising the collection of materials, fundraising and the shipment of collected materials. The medical mission for 2015 has been scheduled and the planning is in progress. So far, we have tried to be transparent in everything we do. Specific criteria for selecting locations for the mission at Mbaise have been published with the deadline set for the 25th of January, 2015. All monetary and other materials collected so far have been posted in the forum. Every budget has also been published. Any of the medical mission activities are public information. You are entitled to any information you require. Nothing about our programs shall be considered a secret. Questions, concerns and feedbacks are encouraged to be sought openly and freely as they will be openly and freely addressed to the best of our ability. Planning for the 2015 convention in Maryland is in progress. Response for hotel reservations is impressive. Mistakes of the past are our anathema. Changes, therefore, have been made; guidelines have been fine-tuned, and impending convention atmosphere is infectiously admirable. Invitation cards are ready and are being mailed out. All our members are encouraged to contact the chairman of the convention committee for invitations/information for personal or groups’ invitees. The layout of this convention is not anything you would have ever witnessed or even imagined in the history of Mbaise USA. All hands are on deck. We have established many committees that are constructively engaged in different aspects of our proposals. So far, these committees have done wonderful jobs. At least three have concluded their assignments and are reviewing their reports. The commitment to excellence we are experiencing with the caliber of men and women that are working in these committees is second to none. Mbaise nwere madu. To celebrate all these, I say thank you and a well-deserved happy and prosperous New Year. Paramount in this New Year’s Day, is the need for us to be united and focused on our common cause. It is important that anyone or any group that feels aggrieved and offended should please forgive and forget. The need to remain solid in order not to give our detractors the leeway to despise us trumps all ill feelings. Once more, I call on all to pursue peaceful resolution of grievances. I strongly appeal to all whose matters ended up in court to please withdraw them for Amala to resolve. Let today be the turning point. We have too much to do. We have a lot ahead of us. Our undivided attention is needed now more than ever. We cannot afford to be complacent or distracted. We do not have much of a choice now. We have to move Mbaise forward. This is a task we cannot shy away from as our living God is on our side. I am today handing out a new beginning’s olive branch to all Mbaise sons and daughters on this New Year’s day. Let us realize that there are people who were hale and hearty in December who didn’t make to today. Let what you give for this benevolence of providence be to forgive those who hurt you in one way or the other in the past year or years ago. My phone is open today and always for every son and daughter of Mbaise who is touched by this appeal to call for an amicable discussion of issues at stake. Thank you all. Udo na ihunanya, akpata enwere, oganihu, obioma, obi iwu otu, obi nwanne, na ihu nanya chukwu, diri onye owula. Long live Mbaise nation. Law Osondu President Mbaise USA __._,_.___
