@Judy Indira Jagroop this recipe is for you as you requested or anyone else in the group who always try to make bread but it never comes out quite the way you want it. This is my basic homemade BREAD recipe for you to give it a try. INGREDIENTS: 4 - 6 cups of white flour (I use Ibis) 2 packets of yeast (Fermipan) 2 tablespoons baking powder 2 teaspoons salt 1 - 2 tablespoons brown sugar 1/2 cup whole wheat flour 1/2 blue band margarine Warm water for kneading METHOD: Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius/350 degrees Fahrenheit) Place flour, whole wheat flour, baking powder, sugar, salt in a large bowl and mix together slightly. Add blue band margarine and mix with hands, crushing margarine until its in the form of bread crumbs in the flour mixture. Add two packets of yeast and mix slightly. Add warm water (should be a little hot to the touch but not scalding hot). This helps activate the yeast in order for the bread to rise. I dont measure my water. I just add and mix until the dough becomes a little sticky. I would advise having a small mug of water. While kneading I keep sprinkling extra flour until the dough forms a smooth ball. After the ball is formed I let it rest for about half hour until the dough has doubled in size then I separate the dough into 3 equal parts, which would give me three small loaves. It could also give you two large loaves. After the dough is separated I knead/roll each portion into a log, the size of the loaf pan then I place in the greased loaf pan. Cover it and let it rest for about another half hour or until the dough has filled out the pan. Place in preheated oven and let it bake for about 20 to 25 minutes. HOPE THIS BASIC RECIPE IS HELPFUL TO EVERYONE...and feel free to post pictures of how yours have turned out if youve tried my recipe. GOOD LUCK :)
