NEWS FLASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you turn Trash into Fashion Treasure? Then the HCC Central Fashion Departments Annual Flash & Trash contest is for you!!! October 31 @ 7:00 p.m. at the Heinen Theater. Tickets are $8.00 presale $12.00 at the door. They sell out fast so get yours early! The challenge: turn any items into a wearable garment. Each category will be judged on creativity and use of items used to create the design. The garment can be made for a male, female and children. You must provide your own model and be present for the event. We encourage the design student to think outside the fashion box to bring their most creative ideas forward. You can tape, staple, glue or use anything to construct your design to stay on the model. The categories: •VIVA LAS VEGAS (designs made with over the top showgirl pieces i.e. volume skirts, large headgear, ect.) •DOLLAR STORE DESIGNS (designs made from dollar store finds i.e. toothbrushes, sponges, rubber gloves ect.) •PLASTIC FANTASTIC (designs made from plastic i.e. trash bags, plastic bottles) •PULP FICTION (designs made from paper i.e. cardboard, poster board, magazines, news paper ect.) •MIXED MEDIA (designs that incorporate a mixture of found objects i.e. glass, mirrors, metal, wires ect.) •GARDEN OF EDEN (designs made from any natural item found in nature i.e. fruit, leaves, seashells, bark, ect.) •MINI ME (designs made for children) •All Entry forms are due Friday October 22 by 4:00 p.m.
