NEWS: Nominations wanted for Gloucestershire County Council’s 2013 Grow Gloucestershire Showcase Awards Do you know a business or young person that has contributed to the local job market and gone above and beyond to make things happen? The County Council want to hear from and about young people who have shone in the workplace; those who have shown entrepreneurial vision and employers who have given a young person the skills needed to help them with their career. Get in touch with the Gloucestershire County Council if: · You are a business who has had a talented, resourceful and helpful young person undertaking an apprenticeship, internship or work experience placement · You are a young person who has developed your own business or enterprise activity and want to nominate yourself · You would like to nominate a Gloucestershire based business for a Grow Gloucestershire Showcase Award because they have helped you develop your employability skills to get you on the right career path. Council Leader Mark Hawthorne, said: “We think it is important to recognise young people who have made a real contribution to their employer’s business and those who have developed their own business idea. We also want to celebrate local businesses that have actively supported a young person to fulfill their potential. “There are eight separate awards within two categories so there are lots of opportunities to showcase a business or employee.” By nominating either a young person or a business, companies will not only gain exposure across the county but will also play a part in the growth of Gloucestershire’s economy. By showcasing the talent already in the county, the awards will help young people develop employability skills that will in turn build a strong and reliable workforce for businesses in the county. For more information about the categories and how to enter, see yes2jobs.co.uk/grow-gloucestershire-showcase-awards The deadline for entries is 5pm on 31st July 2013.
