NEWS UPDATE regarding a post made here yesterday about a problem on Second Street East where drivers seemed obvlivious to the bicycle paths: Early today, October 7, I received immediate email responses from Mayor Bob Kilger, City Councillor Denis Carr, and City Councillor Bernadette Clement, along with the Citys Transportation Engineer, Enrique Kamm. It is a work in progress. The pavement markings and signs have not been put into place yet due to the rain. But, the City is aware of the problem, and work will resume very soon, as weather permits. I am delighted to see Cornwall has a leadership in place that is very prompt in responding to matters. Many of the drivers, on the other hand, need to take their driving more seriously. This is unacceptable. Ive recorded video footage today of some of the total disregard for the pavement lane markings and recklessness behind the wheel. There are pedestrians, bicyclists, children, for goodness sakes! I will refrain from posting video footage, now, as it is not my intent to make anyone look bad. But PLEASE spread the word about this. Otherwise, I will have to start posting more pics and video, if thats what it takes to get the word out. This kind of behavior behind the wheel is unacceptable, and if it doesnt stop, someones going to get killed or hurt very badly. Please note that this is happening typically during heavy traffic. Well, the traffic here is never really heavy per se, but heavier than mild, so to speak. Also, please note that it wasnt as bad today as yesterday, so theres sign of improvement already. Still, we need to continue to spread the word. So, please Like, Comment, or Share to help stop this madness. https://facebook/TheSeekerNewspaper/posts/988061137889980
