NEWS UPDATES AT 12 O’CLOCK WITH ORANGE. Police in Kyegegwa district together with UPDF are working towards ascertaining whether the gunmen that carried out an attack on a church in the district are in connection with Allied Democratic Forces (ADF rebels). A gang with guns and machetes attacked Mugnu Mwena Church killing 2 people including a police officer. Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga says that findings so far show that the group of islamists intends to make this place an Islamic state. This group has been carrying out various attacks in the area. Documents recovered from the fighters’ shrines and hidden training facilities have linked the attack to the Islamist movement operating in Eastern DRC. Residents who had fled their homes have returned as the situation is under control. Ministry of works and transport has said that the heavy rains in different parts of the country have caused a hiccup in the construction of roads. The town has been one of the main TTP bases during recent years when the militants have killed thousands of people in a bombing campaign across Pakistan.
