NEWS from Hong Kong and Maria Ying-Matthews, leader of their extensive and inspiring annual Peace Day events: Season’s Greetings from Peace International Foundation! We have witnessed the creation and debut of our very first 60-piece Peace International Youth Orchestra, led by Philip Chu, our esteemed Principal Conductor, who staged two spectacular concert performances during the UN Peace Day Ceremony and the Ode to Peace Concert in September 2014. We have also officially launched our Student Peace Club in schools, which is spearheaded by Adrian Tang, President of the National Student Peace Club, and we will be working closely with Hong Kong educational institutions to promote peace initiatives especially ‘peace education’ and outreached programs. We believe that Hong Kong is an ideal place to foster a culture of peace and we hope that with your continued support, we can achieve even more impressive milestones in the months and years to come. Our plan forward in 2015 is to connect with schools and universities in the ASEAN nations, and hope we can afford the time and human resources to manage a committee in this region. Love Maria
