NF is a terrible disease that robs our kids of so many things, balance, hearing, sight, all sorts of movement and it disfigures and mangles and so much more. In 2012 Connor had his 6th brain surgery. Imagine the child you love being wheeled off to a surgery that could blind then or at the least robs them of their sense of smell. Imagine waiting 17 hours to hear that the surgery is over. Imagine, flying across the country to sit with your child while you wait hours to hear if your grandchild is going to make it through this surgery. Imagine waiting for a call from you brother, your friend, your niece, your cousin to let you know that after 17 hours, the child is going to be okay. Imagine..... This is just part of what our family went through in 2012. Imagine having your skull opened and staples from one ear to the other. Imagine recuperating from a surgery of this magnitude. Imagine sitting while a doctor pulls 64 staples out of your hair line. Imagine the exhaustion. Imagine not being able to access information you know is in your brain, like multiplication facts. Imagine..... This is just a small glimpse of what Connor went through. Imagine you could educate people about this disease. Imagine you could raise money to help fund a cure.
