NGOR OKPALA L.G.A MUST PRODUCE GOVERNOR, DEPUTY GOVERNOR, SENATOR,MINISTER OR AN AMBASSADOR IN 2015 THE MARGINALIZATION OF NGOR-OKPALA AND ITS PEOPLE MUST STOP NOW !!! NGOR-OKPALA HAS NEVER PRODUCED GOVERNOR, DEPUTY GOVERNOR ,SENATOR,MINISTER OR AN AMBASSADOR SINCE THE CREATION OF OUR DEAR IMO STATE - CHUKWUEMEKA NNAMDI NNAJI 1. BACKGROUND:- The 2012 Ngor Okpala Youth Summit- a broad bases non partisan engagement, organised by the leadership of NGOR OKPALA YOUTH PROGRESSIVE ASSEMBLY (NOYPA) under the distingiushed Chairmanship of HRH Eze Prof. Noble C. Ekeh at Umuaro Central School Play ground-Nguru. This was in keeping with the aims and objectives of the Assembly, which include but not limited to providing the enabling platform for the exchange and cross fertilization of ideas, discusion and formulation of contemporary socio economic and political issues for proper reawakening of the true consciousness of the people of Ngor Okpala, to brace up with the challenges and realities of the present-day demands of Imo State politics. 2. OBSERVATIONS:- In the course of our constructive engagement, the summit observed as follows; (i) That there are genuine calls for the emergence of an Imo Governor of Owerri Zone extraction in 2015 from the people of Owerri zone and we so aligned our selves to that agitation based on its merit on the grounds of EQUITY AND FAIRNESS (ii) That out of the FOUR (4) former county councils that make up the political bloc of Owerri zone namely; MBAISE, MBAIKE, URATTA/MBAUKWU AND NGOR /OKPALA, it is only NGOR/OKPALA that HAS NOT produce a Governor, Deputy Governor, Senator, Minister, Ambassador etc for the fisrt time in history. (iii) That of all the same former County Councils in Owerri Zone, it is only NGOR OKPALA that has unjustifiably remained ONE L.G.A while other have metamaphosed into TWO or THREE more L.G.As (iv) That NGOR OKPALA has virtually lost out in the political equation of Owerri Zone and Imo State in general, owing to the lopsided nature of elective and appointive positions in the Zone (v) That while NGOR OKPALA is yet to PRODUCE a SENATOR, the Mbaise bloc has produced FIVE(5) TIMES, with Uratta/Mbaukwu TWICE and Mbaike ONCE (vi) That while NGOR OKPALA is yet to PRODUCE a MINISTER, Mbaise bloc has PRODUCED FOUR(4) with Uratta/Mbaukwu and Mbaike produsing FIVE(5) each 3. RESOLUTIONS:- Consequently, after a painstaking and unbaised analysis of the issues raise, The Youths of Ngor Okpala in attendance RESOLVES as follows: (i) That in the interst of Equity, Fairness and social Justice, the poeple of Owerri Zone and indeed Imo people in general should concede to the people of Ngor Okpala the opportunity to PRODUCE the Imo GOVERNOR of Owerri Zone Extraction in 2015 or alternatively, The SENATOR for the Zone. (ii) That the considering the level of gross marginalisation suffered by the people of NGOR OKPALA, it is only the office of the Executive GOVERNOR of the State or the SENATOR for the zone can cushion the effect of the undue marginalisation of Ngor Okpala people and posibly bring it at par with the other Blocs of the Zone and the State (iii) That at no time should the emergence of any of the two positions demanded above interfer with the genuine demand for the emmergence of an NGOR OKPALA PERSON as the PREPRESENTATIVE of Aboh Mbaise/ Ngor Okpala Federal Constituency, which has eluded us for THREE consecutive TIME of 12 YERAS (iv) To encourage and moblize the people of NGOR OKPALA to embrace politics of Onyeaghalanwanneya while identifying with any person, group of persons or political party that recognizes and empathies with our sorry state, and punish (electorally) those who treat us with levity and contempt irrespective of party persuations (v) To demostrate an unparallel and unflinching commitment to this EQUITY AGENDA of NGOR OKPALA people While calling on other solidarity groups and socio-cultural organisations from other Zone to join and identify with the genuine CRUSADE FOR IMO EQUITY (OKE ZUO IMO) (vi) That those individuals Leaders whose selfish and gluttonous nature has induced thier serial betrayal of the collective aspirations of NGOR OKPALA people to turn a new leaf or face the music of CHANGE.
