NIGERIA sure does have a significant population of DUMB people, if not, how do you explain the reasoning that BUHARIs footprints are all over the INSECURITY in the North-East? If the evidence is this stark and he has yet to be brought to book in over a decade, then there is certainly a grand conspiracy somewhere, with the government as the chief architect. How will a government stand aloof, watching the continued massacre of innocent people (children, men and women) while you allow the Chief Mastermind continue to roam free? Is Buhari a financial or political overlord with power, money and influence greater than the Federal Government? For those who have been playing the ethno-religious card, let me remind you of some facts. In approximately 16 years of our renascent democracy, we have had Christian presidents for 14 years thereabout. The late Emir of Kano was almost killed by extremists and the new one has even been threatened with death. An emir has been murdered in Gombe, some sacked from their emirates. Numerous Christian and Muslim soldiers have been felled in the military campaign against the insurgency ravaging the North East. The vice president is a muslim and a northerner, so they cannot say Buhari being a muslim is the problem. This is simple logic. There is no such thing as born to rule mentality. The Military rule in Nigeria was characterized by equal numbers of the rulers from both religions. Military rule all over the world is characterized by soldiers who are risk takers who wager their lives to usurp power. And mind you, the very first foray of the military into political governance was led by Christian southerners. Wether is was a coup or a revolution is still left to the discernment of political and historial scholars. Gideon Okar also plotted a coup. Coup plotting is not a regulated effort. It is open to anyone who is daring and willing to risk their lives. Aguiyi Ironsi, a Christian (Some claim he was murdered by muslim officers because he was a christian and southerner), but then came in his successor, General Gowon, a christian, who spent almost 9 years in the saddle before being toppled in a bloodless coup. Afterwards came in Murtala, a muslim who was also murdered by a Christian (Dimka), with the mastermind Gen. Bisalla being a Christian too. Even though these coups never had a religious nor ethnic undertone, but power grabbing objective. After Murtala, came in Obasanjo, a Christian Southerner. You can reasearch history further. Dates and facts do not lie. So where does this born to rule mentality come from? There is no such thing as a born to rule or Islamization anywhere. It is just a propagandist tool being peddled by weak politicians who cannot cope and navigate the intellectually dynamic field of politics.
