NIGERIAN NEWS APC’S PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY BRINGS BACK HOPE TO NIGERIA’S DEMOCRACY - REVISITED. The ball is now in the court of Nigerians to liberate themselves from the shackles of slavery. If they miss this opportunity, it may take time to come by. And the fact that Mohammadu Buhari emerged as APC’s presidential candidate is a true testimony that Nigerians know their problem and have an Idea of who will get them out of it. That some people say anything to the contrary is only a depiction of what mental and material poverty has brought to bear on us. In order to consolidate, Mohammadu Buhari should carry his campaign to IBB – in Mina – and assure him that he has no malice against him. He should also reassure OBJ that no mention will be made of his eight years in office which helped to beef up corruption before President Jonathan came in to institutionalize corruption in Nigeria. He will then have to choose a resounding personality from the Christian South as his running mate. This has become very imperative because PDP has so much polarized Nigeria along the line of religion and tribe. He should then do a vast tour of the South within the few days of campaign. He will have to reassure the South and Christians that he has no Islamisation agenda as touted by PDP. The above was an excerpt from my earlier post after the APC concluded their presidential primaries some time ago. Some of my good friends held me on the jugular that I was condoning corruption by suggesting that GMB should visit OBJ and IBB. I have waited, anxiously and patiently, to see the very same people who condemned the idea do same after GEJ did exactly what I suggested for GMB on IBB. I challenge those my friends to give me sufficient reasons why I should not regard them as people of double speak. We all know why GEJ will never visit OBJ. And we all have seen that after his over 5 years in office, GEJ never talked about the era of OBJ even with the backdrop of over $20 billion spent on the power sector since 1999. Nigerias mathematics goes this way: From 1999 under PDP, 4500 MW + $20 billion = 4500 MW in 2014 under the same PDP. We are also aware that GEJ has never talked about IBBs annulment of June 12 and all other incidents of the 8 black years of IBB. My fear is that PDP apologists have a terrible selective outlook to Nigerias problems. I give God the honor and glory for my viewpoint on the factors militating against Nigeria emerging as a fundamental economy in the continent of Africa. A country where the milk and honey God willingly deposited under our soil is being wasted by just a few who are not creative enough to know that a nation is what the leadership makes it. When I want to look at Nigerias problem, I premise that on clueless politicians. I do not spare any group. But some are pathologically fixated that they do not see anything wrong with PDPs management of Nigeria for over 14 years, 11 short of the number of years geographers use to label a climatic condition.
