NIGERIANS, would you agree with this suggestion? Sent by our reader Klets Cletus Obi: ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! NO PREPAID METERS – NO LIGHT BILLS! Lets say NO to exorbitant and frivolous light bills given to us by power holding company of Nigeria! If we continue to accept and pay the bills without basis, we are nothing but hopeless fools who do not know their rights. We have been paying into the pockets of power-holding company officials, because the monies we pay do not have records and therefore cannot be accounted for. The only way we can assist the government in her fight against sabotage and vandalism of power equipment is a prompt stoppage of the bogus bills payments. There is no sign of constant power and higher bills are served and we pay with complains. Lets therefore demand for prepaid meters to enable us have some form of control on the money we pay, as there will be no payment when there is no light. Furthermore, the one they call service charge will not be paid if there is no light to justify it. We are only suffering and smiling while some fellow Nigerians in the name of power holding are laughing and smiling to their bank branches with our hard earned money. Do you know that none of the power holding staff pay electricity bills, yet they carry ladders disconnecting people from their epileptic light poles. If only they paid light bills, they would understand how it feels to pay for darkness from ones hard earned money after fueling your generator for the whole week or month. If we have prepaid meters in our houses and they decide not to give us light for one week or month, there will be no complaints as we run our generators, but a situation where we power our homes and companies with self generated power and at the end of the month an exorbitant light bills is brought to our doorstep by he who failed to give us light, there is no justification for such bills. I hereby implore all Nigerians to say NO to exorbitant estimated light bills and demand for prepaid meters. The prepaid meters are not distributed free, we pay for them and so their is no better reason for it not to be provided if not for selfish reasons by the power holding officials.. There are so many individuals who can import the prepaid meters for the power holding company and get back their monies after the sales to the public just to make sure everyone has the prepaid Meter to aid their efficiency. Fellow Nigerians, lets join hands together and fight this once and for all, we are not fighting the govt but for our right for a better payment for services enjoyed and not rendered. NO PREPAID METERS – NO LIGHT BILL. NO LIGHT – NO SERVICE CHARGES. The time to fight is now. Enough is enough for all this nonsense! What is YOUR REACTION to this appeal?
