NIGERIAs BUDGET 2015:THE ECONOMY IN ARIDITY/SHAMBLES THAT CAN LEAD TO STAGFLATION (unemployment>inflation>low production>economic crunch) BY Abbati Bako, psc Since the demise of the late President Umaru Musa Yaradua, Nigeria and Nigerians has been in skepticism (a person who doubt the truth of an idea or value of an idea or believe) about the so called transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria. The Nigerians are accumulating anger every 24 hours (or almost) due to formulation of non realistic political, economic and social policies. Nigerias economy has been in shambles, the foreign reserve is not increasing/depleting and the internal debt is skyrocketing. The global oil glut has now forced Nigerias budget to significantly be trimmed. The refusal of Nigerian leaders to find other means of generating foreign (a part from oil) revenues is now seemed to be a serious concern; as far as Nigerias economy is facing serious aridity and uncontrolled crises. If left uncheck, Nigerians will face both individual and government economic set back. The 2008 global economic crunch or depression had led to serious economic problems for Nigerians and since then the people of Nigeria are yet to be fully recovered. The unemployment rate among the teaming youths of Nigeria is getting higher everyday and no measures has been taken to curtail the situation. The inflation seemed to be unstoppable and the production of Nigerias industries is getting lower everyday due to lack of stable and constant electricity energy. And again, if the global oil glut continue uncontrolled for the next one to two years; I doubt that if FG, States and LGs can pay salaries and wages in this country. But what will be the way out? The only way out is for Nigerians to change the current central government of PDP via democratic means by using their voting cards, so, that the country may regain its lost economic glory among the comity of nations. One good thing about democracy is giving the opportunity to the citizens to vote in or vote out any representation that mandated leadership from Councillor to the President. The democracy is about participatory of all citizens into the governing system. I hereby appeal to all Nigerians to vote for the new party APC in the coming elections of 2015; so that the possibility of getting new policies particularly on economy may change the life of ordinary Nigerian. I mean to say that General Muhammad Buhari and his running mate Professor Yemi Osinbanjo may come up with strategic economic policy that will boost the economy of individual Nigerian and the government; so that our democracy will be blooming and the enemies of Nigeria (in and out) will be a shame for themselves.
