NIHM is proud to present ENNIS ! September 27th at the Gimli Theatre. Doors open at 7:00 Performance begins at 7:30 Tickets available at the New Iceland Heritage Museum and Tergesen’s. Advance tickets $15 at the door $20 Here is a bit about these amazing sisters........and a few links to You Tube below! In our fast paced, technologically driven world, today’s audiences have a hunger for music that is direct, honest and real. Ennis provides relief to that hunger with a live performance that is powerful, compelling and, above all, as clean and fresh as the wind and waves that wash over their home shores of Newfoundland. Experienced concert presenter Liz Scott of Irish Mountain Music had this to say:! “Their performance of the song I Will Sing You Home was the most magical, real, human experience that I have ever seen at a live music event. The energy of the crowd shifted to a palpable, emotional energy. It was profound.” In an August 2012 itunes review, concert attendee James Morgan said:! “These sisters from Newfoundland, Canada, grounded in traditional Irish music, use that style to create music whose themes are totally contemporary. Their harmonies are close and precise; their music is impeccable. I first heard them at Summerfolk in Owen Sound, Ontario, where they brought the house down. The audience simply would not stop their applause. In my 30+ years of attending such festivals, I have never experienced such enthusiastic support for performers...” As the Ennis Sisters, the group released six CDs, toured the Middle East, Norway, the UK, every Canadian Province and 90% of the United States, accumulating their own gold record, plus two compilation gold records along the way. In addition to sharing stages with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, The Chieftains, Mary Black and Jann Arden, career highlights include a Juno Award, a SOCAN Award, and multiple ECMAs and Music Newfoundland awards and nominations. https://youtube/watch?v=WrIFId258zY&index=24&list=PL5201F7A0138A9302 https://youtube/watch?v=f27bEDnbcbU&index=48&list=PL5201F7A0138A9302 https://youtube/watch?v=M83t2-Xg66c&list=PL5201F7A0138A9302&index=4 This concert is a fundraising event for the New Iceland Heritage Museum.
