***NO SPOILERS*** Okay... so I watched the rough cut of the Doctor Who series 8 opener... Im incredibly happy to be back to an older Doctor and Peter Capaldi absolutely nails a fresh but familiar take on the character. I think this Doctor will prove one of the best. The TONE of the storytelling is very much in line with the last few Moffatt-driven seasons, for better or worse (personally, Im fine with Moff except those moments where someone needs to reign him in), but at least now The Doctor is written with his own distinct new voice rather than dialog for Matt Smith that could easily be swapped for Tennant. Theres a nice surprise return of something from one of Moffatts prior Tennant episodes. There is ONE THING I hated though... and I hated it pretty bad... the second to last scene. Its a scene to wrap up a needless dilemma for Clara that is absolutely inconsistant with her experiences with the Doctor, and was needlessly shoehorned in. It hurt the integrity of the episode, and made Clara look extra dumb. Other than that... I am happy to see what the 12th Doctor has in store...
