“NOAH” … a movie with a message. Eight of us last night watched eight people survive the Flood (it just worked out that way) If you like action movies and special effects and that’s ALL you like, maybe go see the movie, although the previews we saw of the next Captain America movie seemed better. The acting was good, but then I’m a fan of Russell Crowe and Anthony Hopkins and Ray Winstone. It’s good to see Emma Watson maturing as an actress after her stint in Harry Potter. If you want to know HOW the Left in this country show their contempt for God and religion … if you want to discern the mindset of the Left so that maybe you can recognize their strategy for secularizing this country … then GO SEE the movie. Consider it a documentary. God is always referred to as “the Creator” So what? The “so what” is this de-personifies God into a remote First Cause. Contrary to the biblical text, He is never seen talking to Noah personally … for this would turn Him into a Person. This distant “Creator” is a being of “justice” and “righteousness” … but never “love”. But what is “righteousness”? The movie does not say … at best it’s an abstract whim of “the Creator”. Whatever it is, it has nothing to do with “love”. The Bible summarizes “righteousness” as God’s idea of how to love Him and how humanity can best get along with itself. This fact did not fit the director’s narrative so was ignored. Not understanding “righteousness”, the film is incapable of dealing with the issue of “sin” and its natural consequences of misery and death … and therefore God’s ultimate loving purpose for the Flood. Noah is seen as a “righteous” man who will carry out God’s will. Contrary to the biblical text, Noah is NOT seen as a “preacher for 120 years, of righteousness”. His only utterance for the local people during the building of the Ark is to condemn them. But in the final third of the movie, confusion overtakes him. Now this righteous, confused man believes God only wishes to save the animals, since they alone are the only innocent life forms on earth. As for the occupants of the Ark, all eventually die and not replenish the earth. So when 2 daughters are born on the voyage to his son, they must be killed. Such is the mockery the film makes of the character Noah and true intents of God. The film sympathizes with the “victims” of the flood. Tubal Cain asks what do you expect of him? Was he not sentenced to be a fugitive and vagabond on the earth? “We are just like you God … we give life and we kill” Can you blame him for surviving? At least he has more love for humanity than the “righteous, confused” Noah who believes God would have ALL mankind perish. So we have a remote God who creates man and then insists that man be “righteous” (whatever that is) When man fails, God delivers His wrath and destroys innocent women, children, and men who are just trying to survive God’s harsh world. An extension of this cold and distant God is his confused religious servant Noah, who would kill his own granddaughters and later get drunk. This film did not “accidentally get it wrong”. The Left applauds this film because they believe and approve its false narrative. They do not understand the true plan of God: A future resurrection and Kingdom of God on earth … a time when all innocent women and children, and all mankind will be resurrected in a world far, far better than the one they left behind, and be offered eternal life. In the film, Tubal Cain offered to start the new civilization himself. For the secular intellectuals on the Left today, their mission is to usher in a utopian, “kingdom of man” on earth. To elevate themselves to dominance, they must diminish God and religion. This film does that. For that matter, anything that the Left controls diminishes God, His religion, and His followers. This would include the Left’s control of big government, their control of various media outlets, the universities, and our own children’s public schools. Seriously now, if they control these institutions, why would they miss the opportunity? And if we think the film is worthless (as I do) … why would we support anything else the Left controls?
