NOBODY IS A NOBODY… On every football pitch, there are usually 22 (twenty two) players chasing one rubber ball. They are divided into two main groups called teams. This means that each team is comprised of only eleven (11) players with one major aim which is winning. Each team player has a specific and unique role to play. The goal keeper must make sure that no ball crosses the line behind him towards the net, and then the defenders must ensure that they protect the goal keeper by not allowing the ball to go behind them. They must act as shields. The mid-fielders` role is to manage the ball and make sure that the different strikers are not starved. Lastly, the strikers have to make sure that they score goals. So who is the most important football player on a pitch? Can we conclude that some players do more work than others? Can a team survive without any of the eleven players? Since every team`s dream is to score goals and strikers are the ones that score, should we conclude that the strikers are the most important players? To answer the above questions, all players are equally important because they all have unique roles to play. If you study the different parts of our bodies, you will realize that they all work together as a team. The arms require the legs to move. Similarly the legs need arms to lift. The head thinks for the boy but it can`t function well if the stomach is empty. The eyes help in observing the different things in the environment but their observations can`t be complete unless the ears also listen. We can go on and on, the list is endless. Basically all body parts need each other. That is why it is hard for the other body parts to work well if one of them is in pain. Even if it is a simple complication, it irritates the whole system. If you have ever felt a pain “down stairs,” you know what Iam talking about. You can never concentrate on whatever you are doing unless you first “scratch” the affected area. Therefore, our creator is the best team player and we are created to be team players. But although we are created as team players, today many people are defying this simple rule of nature. If you scrutinize through the different work places we work in, many people are not practicing it. Different people are always claiming to being more important than others but that is a lie. You will hear the marketing department claiming that they are more important because source for customers. Then the people in production and operations say that they are the ones that produce goods and services. Finance department also claims that unless they source for funds, nobody can do anything. Procurement guys also say that unless they get the best raw materials and service providers, nothing can be produced. Etc… So who is fooling who? Who is actually more important? As already mentioned above, no team can succeed unless all team players carry out their different roles. Therefore all departments are equally important and all players put in the same effort. Never be lied that just because you are seated in a rocking chair, signing cheques and busy playing solitaire on your computer, you are more important than the tea girl. In actual fact she needs to be handled with care because she can choose to end your life any time she wants using her tea (poison). Always treat everyone with respect and equally. Likewise in life, everyone is significant. Just because you are a step higher than somebody else doesn’t mean that you mistreat them. You never know what the future holds for you. We all need one another. Everyone on this planet is created in a unique way and has a role to play before he or she kicks the bucket. You never know the person that will help you tomorrow. Do not be lied by today. Tomorrow is on its way coming. Always remember that everybody is a somebody and nobody is a NOBODY!
